Jeeseop Kim

Biographical Sketch

Jeeseop Kim is a postdoctoral scholar in Mechanical and Civil Engineering at Caltech. He received his B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Seoul National University in 2014, his M.S. in Intelligence and Information (major in robotics) from Seoul National University in 2017, and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2022. His research interests span robotics in collaborative tasks, robot bipedal/quadrupedal locomotion, hybrid dynamical systems, underactuated systems, optimization-based control techniques, whole-body planning and control, safety-critical control, human-robot interaction, and intelligent decision-making. His awards and recognitions include the ASME Dynamic Systems & Control Division (DSCD) Rudolf Kalman Best Paper Award in 2022 and IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) Outstanding Paper Award in 2023.
